EPAM E-Kids Participate in Skool’s ScratchMatch Competition

News:

On Saturday, January 28, 2017, EPAM Hungary hosted 23 girls who will participate in ScratchMatch, which is a game development competition for young girls. The competition in March is this year’s first full-day Scratch workshop for girls aged 12-16 made possible by EPAM’s partner, Skool. In addition to Scratch programming, the girls learned about EPAM’s goals and working environment, took a tour of the office, and prepared for the upcoming competition with the help of EPAM employees.

ScratchMatch is just one example of our educational programs and partnerships that aim to improve the knowledge base of students locally in Hungary and across the globe. The participating girls were part of EPAM’s e-Kids program that encourages young children to explore software engineering. Based on MIT’s Scratch Program, the e-Kids program provides a fun environment to learn coding through hands-on challenges and close mentoring opportunities with our employees. We look forward to continuing to work with these students to broaden their IT skills.
