We are seeking a talented Software Engineer with proficiency in Java and Scala to join our dynamic team.

The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of software development and a proven track record of delivering robust solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain software applications using Java and Scala
  • Utilize Akka and Akka Streams for building reactive applications
  • Work with Spring Framework to enhance application functionality
  • Manage data integration and manipulation using MySQL, Cassandra, and Neo4J databases
  • Implement messaging systems with Apache Kafka
  • Operate within an AWS environment, managing services including Lambda, S3, CloudFormation, Amazon API Gateway, and Kinesis
  • Troubleshoot and optimize production data pipelines
  • Collaborate with the client and EPAM's offshore engineering team to resolve technical issues
  • Act as a key part of the extended engineering team based in EPAM's Budapest office

Requirements

  • 3 - 5 years of working experience as a Software Engineer
  • Expertise in Scala using tools such as Akka and Akka Streams
  • Proficiency in Java particularly with the Spring Framework
  • Background in databases including MySQL, Cassandra, and Neo4J
  • Skills in Apache Kafka for messaging purposes
  • Capability to work in AWS environments using Lambda, S3, CloudFormation, Amazon API Gateway, and Kinesis
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, particularly in production data pipelines
  • Effective communication skills for collaboration with clients and offshore teams
