EPAM is looking to add a Lead Payroll Specialist to join our team in Canada. This role will play an integral part in helping to create a great workplace experience emphasized by EPAM’s core values and behaviours. Reporting to the Canada People Lead, the Lead Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of employee payroll data, tax audits, and invoice reconciliation. The ideal candidate must maintain a professional and friendly demeanor in all interactions with clients, both internal and external.

What You’ll Do

  • Enters maintains and processes information in the payroll system; information may include employees’ hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding and other information
  • Enter, calculate, and verify timesheets for hourly employees, including overtime calculations
  • Support audit requests by providing data and supporting documentation as required for audit
  • Escalates or transfers client issues to the appropriate department as necessary
  • Assist with timely handling of payroll inquiries and escalates as needed to Payroll Manager and/or other People (HR) Team
  • Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, and other deductions
  • Issues or reissues, physical or replacement cheques, or direct deposits due to payroll errors or final discharge
  • Answers frequently asked questions from employees relative to standard policies & processes; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level Payroll or People management
  • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of payroll files and records
  • Ability to perform focused work with strong attention to detail
  • Provides clerical support to the People team
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 3 years of full-cycle payroll experience required
  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience required; post-secondary education would be desired
  • Outstanding organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with strong problem-solving skills. The ability to prioritize competing demands and work within SLAs
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Working knowledge of Canadian payroll legislations and regulations
  • ADP WorkForce Now experience is preferred but not required
  • Passionate about teamwork with attention to details and critical thinking skills
  • Self-starter and responsive with a customer service approach
  • Preferred experience in a global organization
