As Data Engineer you build data systems and applications to support decision making. You focus on developing and maintaining data pipelines in Azure, and you participate in data migration from on-premise to public clouds and building components for central enterprise data platforms.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and build ETL processes
  • Productionise solutions with security and monitoring best practices
  • Innovate and create custom solutions/workarounds 
  • Articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Work with clients and engage across teams/disciplines 
  • Actively lead in sprint planning and assigning tasks 
  • Influence ways of working within development teams 
  • Contribute to design and decision making 

What You Have

  • 5+ years developer experience on commercial projects 
  • Specialist/certified development skills in SQL, Python or Scala 
  • Competency in additional languages/frameworks
  • Familiarity with BI tools like Power BI/Qlikview/Tableau
  • Competency with DevOps practices and tools like Azure DevOps, Jenkins or similar
  • Good working knowledge of security tooling from one of the following: Microsoft Azure, AWS or GCP
  • Experience of Web Apps/.NET/Azure functions/Automation/Logic Apps/Event Hub desirable but not essential
  • Strong communicator verbal and written
  • The following certifications you may have are non-essential but highly desirable for the position:
    • Exam DP-201: Designing an Azure Data Solution
    • Exam DP-200: Implementing an Azure Data Solution
    • Databricks Certified Associate Developer for Spark 2.4/3.0
