We are looking for a Scrum Master responsible for running Scrum team(s) to join our team in Hungary. Remote work is supported.

As a Scrum Master, you will serve one to multiple Scrum teams in an environment where we strive for consistent, predictable, high-quality delivery, and provide mentorship and coaching to your less seasoned peers.

This is a customer-facing role where you work directly with the client. You will influence business and product executives as well as product leaders and technology teams with respect to agile principles, values, practices, cadence, flow, and how to build, grow, and maintain a thriving agile organization.

As Scrum Master your main focus will be the team: how to create a team from individuals, challenge the status quo, and help the team to improve their efficiency.

What You’ll Do

  • Organize and facilitate all Scrum ceremonies with a focus on guiding the teams by implementing effective agile practices
  • Empower the teams to self-organize and self-manage
  • Identify and remove impediments and external dependencies blocking the team
  • Contribute to keeping the project tracking system up-to-date, and keep track of metrics to support team growth
  • Provide reports on project status, achievements, and risks to internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis
  • Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and disseminating information
  • Work closely with all stakeholders to guide them to identify and adjust requirements based on technical feedback, prioritize requirements, and manage changing priorities
  • Help the team to achieve higher levels of Scrum maturity
  • Use scaling techniques to help the cooperation between teams and improve the organizational agility together with the other scrum masters
  • Support team members to improve individual performance and maintain motivation levels
  • Facilitate discussions and support conflict resolution
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications and participating in professional societies
  • Contribute to the EPAM Agile community by sharing best practices and other relevant information with peers across teams
  • Be able to approach others with empathy and understand multiple aspects of demanding situations

What You Have

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in the field of Business Management, Engineering, Computer Sciences, or equivalent
  • Active advanced English knowledge (both verbal and written)
  • Hands-on experience in agile delivery environments
  • Great knowledge of Scrum, good understanding of the Agile mindset, principles, and practices
  • Experience to explain and promote agile engineering practices
  • Understanding of agile metrics and reporting techniques
  • Experience with agile management tools
  • Ability to lead by example through maintaining the Agile values every day, skills and knowledge in leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution and empowerment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong mediation and negotiation skills
  • A “can-do”, self-motivated, flexible attitude
  • People-focused mindset

Nice to have

  • Scrum certifications (Scrum Master and/or Product Owner), or other Agile certification
  • Experience with scaled Agile delivery frameworks (Nexus/Less/SAFe)
  • Experience with Kanban
  • Technical background (dev, QA, BA), working experience in various roles
  • Experience in leading offshore/dispersed development teams
