Currently we are looking for Software Developers to turn into DevOps Engineers as career path for our Guadalajara office. DevOps is the trending skill among organizations to transform / implement and facilitate SDLC, exploding automation, elasticity, HA, self-healing, cloud capabilities for public, private and hybrid configurations.

Candidates gradually will shift from development to DevOps using our proven methodology with a mix of hands-on work training.

Responsibilities

  • Manage technical aspects of end-to-end release lifecycle for applications delivered by development team;
  • Work on build automation (Continuous Integration);
  • Work on release automation (Continuous Deployment);
  • Establish the final release configuration, Application, Middleware, Platform;
  • Participate in auditing of performance and security issues discovered during the release process;
  • Improve the communication between Development, QA and other stakeholders;
  • Actively collaborate with Solution Designers and Architects to enhance performance, security and release efficiency;
  • Support environment using best solution using DevOps approach;
  • Design, operate and enhance Application performance and low latency applications.

Requirements

  • At least 2+ years of experience as a Software Developer in any language;
  • Linux / *nix knowledge;
  • Experience / familiarity working with any Cloud provider: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Rackspace, OpenStack, OpenShift, SoftLayer;
  • Development experience with any of the following scripting languages: Bash, Perl, Ruby, Python, Java;
  • Experience doing development, support, configuration in any of the following application and web servers (Tomcat, Nginx, Apache, JBoss, WebLogic) or Databases (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, DB2, NoSQL: MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra, DynamoDB, MarkLogic, Couchbase);
  • Exposure to Version Control Systems: SVN, Git, ClearCase, Perforce, Mercurial;
  • Experience debugging and troubleshooting applications/platforms;
  • Experience working on production environments and client facing;
  • Basic Agile/Scrum/Kanban/Lean/ITIL understanding;
  • Strong work ethic and a positive attitude;
  • Excellent technical aptitude and a desire to learn constantly;
  • Clear written and verbal communication and active listening skills;
  • Responsible, self-disciplined, and motivated;
  • Basic understanding of industry compliance and security standards including one or more of the following: PCI, ISO 27001, HIPAA, NIST/DoD frameworks, HITECH, FedRAMP.

  • Networking in Cloud (huge plus);
  • Configuration Management Automation: Chef, Puppet, Vagrant, Ansible;
  • CI / CD tooling and experience: Jenkins, Bamboo, TeamCity, CruiseControl, Team Foundation Server, Travis CI;
  • Team Collaboration tools: Jira, Team Foundation, Slack, Flowdock;
  • Any Build tool: Maven, Gradle, Apache Ant, MSBuild, Grunt;
  • TDD, BDD, Engineering Best Practices.
