Legal Counsel (Employment Law) required by EPAM to join our expanding EMEA and APAC function, this role will be based in our London Liverpool Street HQ.
As the successful candidate, you report to our Regional Senior Counsel (Employment Law) to support employment law advice for our EMEA/APAC business. This is a fantastic opportunity a Junior Employment Law solicitor to move “in-house” within a Global organization. You will get the opportunity to gain broad skills and experience supporting day-to-day activities initially across the UK and Ireland and with experience in other jurisdictions in EMEA/APAC region.
Assist Senior Regional Counsel to provide best in class employment law support across EMEA and APAC;
Under the supervision of the Senior Regional Counsel, provide day to day support on a broad range of labor and employment matters, initially across UK and Republic of Ireland, including recruiting, employment contracts, grievance and disciplinary processes, performance and sickness absence management, corporate restructuring, redundancies and termination of employment;
Draft, review and help manage best in class employment templates (such as employment contracts, termination agreements, contractor agreements, employee handbooks and policies) and assist with drafting and negotiation questions, as necessary;
Help organize, develop and deliver training on employment law and internal policies and programs;
Assist with global or regional labor law or HR projects;
Assist with M&A transactions;
Assist with the implementation of global employment and compliance policies;
Assist with the management of global privacy compliance policies and procedures, working with cross-functional partners when needed.
Qualified junior solicitor from any jurisdiction in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland;
Demonstrable post qualification experience in employment and labor law (around 3-4 years’ PQE, but candidates with more or less PQE who can demonstrate that they have equivalent levels of skills or knowledge will be considered);
Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
Excellent drafting and communication skills;
Highly motivated and committed with the ability to build and develop rapport with HR and the business;
Professional, calm under pressure, well organized, proactive and able to grasp concepts quickly;
Strong interpersonal skills and enjoys the challenge of working in a dynamic and busy environment;
Previous in-house experience desirable but not mandatory;
Additional European language (Hungarian, Polish, Spanish) an advantage;
