DESCRIPTION


Currently we are looking for a Systems Engineer for our Prague office to make the team even stronger.

A long-running project at EPAM ODC of one of a Global Investment Bank is looking for Environment Engineer. Main function of the role is to be a key resource in Prague-based Credit Risk Environment Management team, which manages several Risk Generation and Publication systems. Core elements of the role include Release and Deployment Management, Environments Provisioning, Capacity Planning, Support of the Non-Production environments, Tooling and Automation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Jira stack, as team follows Agile approach;
  • Own problems and drive them to resolution;
  • Interact with Development teams, peers and Project Managers to gather and analyze the requirements and deliver appropriate technical solutions, communicate with the key stakeholders;
  • Perform testing of the release candidates and highlight any issues observed to respective teams;
  • Prepare Production releases and provide support during their implementation;
  • Participate in complex testing exercises driven by Regulators, Upstream and/or Downstream teams and requiring efficient coordination of the work of the numerous parties;
  • Write technical documentation and share it within the team;
  • Adhere to Bank’s Technical standards and SDLC principles;
  • Be a self-reliant performer, capable of working both independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team;
  • Work in shifts (LDN/NYK hours) and solely from the office.

Requirements

  • Administration and support of the Windows Server 2008 and up to 2016;
  • PowerShell scripting;
  • Database administration skills (MS SQL Server 2008 and up to 2016);
  • Experience providing 3rd line support for complex business-facing systems with large number of users;
  • Exposure to Agile, ITIL and DevOps practices and approaches;
  • Knowledge of how applications are written, built and deployed (using Git/Bitbucket/TeamCity/Jenkins/Nolio Automation, etc.);
  • Solid communication and coordination skills, Intermediate and higher English level (B1+);
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or Scientific discipline.

Nice to have

  • Hands-on experience with systems utilizing compute grid (e.g. DataSynapse) and/or Data Grid (e.g. Oracle Coherence);
  • Real life experience with modern monitoring systems (e.g. ELK, Grafana, etc.);
  • UNIX administration skills;
  • Risk, pricing and derivatives knowledge.
