DESCRIPTION


Currently we are looking for a Senior Business Analyst for our Prague office to make the team even stronger.

In 2015 EPAM opened the Czech Republic IT delivery center in Prague, in the iconic City Tower in Pankrac. Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, is a growing source of innovation due to the increasing demand for software solutions and services in Central Europe. This new location will enable EPAM to collaborate more closely with clients in the region.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to Business Queries – evaluate queries raised by the business and carry out investigations into data quality, functional specifications and the application code. This role requires significant amount of technical (programming) as well as business (Credit Risk) knowledge. Critical for the role is ability to extract and analyze big arrays of data using SQL (MS SQL Management Studio) and spreadsheets (Excel);
  • Conduct Impact Analysis – liaise with the IT and business stakeholders and other distributed technology teams to plan, change, test minor changes and implement in production. Implement test batches to meet business or regulatory requirements;
  • Improve processes and develop automation tools – identify areas and tasks suitable for automation, write scripts and automation tools to remove manual overhead from daily tasks;
  • Develop and maintain effective communication with our user groups – both within development group, support and Front/Middle office users.

Requirements

  • Numerate degree (Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, Finance etc.);
  • At least 3 years in high-pressure and complex technical environment;
  • SQL expertise is a must (aggregation function, partitions, etc.). Knowledge of stored procedures is a strong plus;
  • C++ basic knowledge: understanding of basic OOP concepts, ability to read and understand code;
  • R (or any other scripting language) basic knowledge: ability to understand the code and write simple scripts;
  • Ability to communicate with business users and clearly state your opinion on the issue;
  • Exposure to large applications;
  • Experience in Risk Management systems;
  • Working with a distributed, global team.

Nice to have

  • High-level understating of Investment Banking, knowledge of any products or previous experience in risk is a plus;
  • Excel for ad-hoc reporting and analysis – VBA;
  • Jira;
  • SharePoint;
  • Confluence/Wiki.
